Africa REACH Leadership Council Names H.E. Toyin Ojora Saraki as Co‑Chair

Agenda 2063 in Action – Africa REACH Appoints New Leadership with Saraki Appointment

As the continent marks Africa Month, the Africa REACH Leadership Council (ARLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Her Excellency Mrs. Toyin Ojora Saraki as Co‑Chair. This appointment underscores Africa REACH’s commitment to strengthening African‑driven advocacy, accountability, and action in the HIV response and in broader health systems across the region.

H.E. Saraki will serve alongside Reverend Godson Lawson- Kpavuvu, Vice President of the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC). Together, they represent a deliberate pairing of faith leadership and public health expertise, a partnership designed to anchor advocacy in both community trust and technical excellence.

“As faith communities remain among the most trusted networks in Africa, joining forces with public health leadership allows us to reduce stigma, reach underserved populations, and inspire collective action that reflects the values of Agenda 2063,” said Rev. Godson Lawson-Kpavuvu.

A Partnership for Transformation

The co‑chair model reflects Africa REACH’s belief that durable health change requires both grassroots legitimacy and system‑level expertise. Rev. Kpavuvu’s regional faith leadership and H.E. Saraki’s global health systems experience creates a powerful platform for mobilising action across every level of society.

Africa REACH’s initiatives are closely aligned with the African Union’s Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, ensuring that advocacy is rooted in community realities and continental aspirations.

“Ending AIDS in Africa is not only a global health priority but a continental imperative,” emphasized H.E. Toyin Ojora Saraki. “I am honored to co‑lead Africa REACH in mobilizing African solutions, strengthening community leadership, and ensuring that every child and young person has the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.”
