11 Oct #IDGYouthTakeover International Day of the Girl Child

On International Day of the Girl Child (11 0ctober), Africa REACH collaborated with PATA, youth networks and the African Union through CARMMAPlus to amplify the voices of young people from across Africa. After consulting with the PATA Youth Advisory Panel and conducting a focus group discussion with regional youth networks during the International Workshop on HIV & Adolescence held in Zambia from 4-6 October, young people drafted statements calling for action for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).

The statements referenced several pleas, calling upon governments to adequately fund resourcing for key areas as healthcare, digital skills and comprehensive sexual education enabling girls to achieve their potential, and access their human rights.
